What Is Crypto Tourism?

Thousands of cryptocurrency investors around the globe have seen phenomenal ROIs over the past few years, and because of their investments they enjoy a slice of the good life. Traveling the world is one of the most popular ways to kick back and relax, and the opportunity to combine it with a passion for crypto is very appealing.

Research has found that 1 in 4 travel enthusiasts plan to at least pay for vacations with crypto in 2022 and beyond. Crypto tourism capitalizes on this desire to embrace modern tech with the financial power of crypto traders to deliver a new style of luxury travel.

The Rise, Fall, & Resurrection Of Crypto Tourism

The growth of cryptocurrency has altered virtually every aspect of our lives, as has been underlined by the emergence of concepts like Bitcoin loans. The idea of tourism that focuses heavily on a passion for cryptocurrency grew organically in the pre-pandemic era as BTC and other popular digital coins found their way into the tourism industry.

While making sure crypto payments are accessible to the masses – and could become the norm in years to come given that half of Gen Z would be happy to be paid 50% of their salaries through digital coins – crypto tourism is a term that defines vacations aimed specifically at high-rolling cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Like all aspects of the tourism industry, crypto tourism came to a shuddering halt during the pandemic. However, crypto trading and investments have continued to dominate the lives of many traders. In fact, many people finally discovered the benefits of crypto during the various lockdowns.

As normality is restored to the domestic and international travel arena, a growing number of crypto enthusiasts will be eager to make up for lost time, which should be a catalyst for a crypto tourism boom – especially in destinations like New Zealand where the ability to pay for adventures with crypto is heavily promoted.

Crypto Tourism 2.0

While crypto enthusiasts have traveled in luxury since even before digital coins were publicly available, it is largely accepted that the movement started in 2017 with the Coinsbank blockchain cruise of 2017. In 2019, 2,500 holidaymakers joined the Mediterranean blockchain cruise, showing that the demand for luxury trips with a crypto twist exists. The second birth of crypto tourism promises to be bigger and better.

Travel operators with an understanding of the crypto industry and the behavioral habits of successful investors will continue to provide luxury cruises and trips to exclusive destinations. As well as paying for adventures with cryptocurrencies, including BTC, XRP, and ETH, crypto tourism is about experiences and events. From masterclasses to networking events and industry insights, the vacations aimed at crypto enthusiasts deliver insights that are designed to support investors on their crypto journeys.

With a predicted CAGR of 12.4% between now and 2030, cryptocurrency continues to play a central role in a growing number of life facets. Likewise, it is affecting an increasing volume of people. Crypto tourism is easily one of the most exciting developments, not least because it focuses on celebrating the whole point of investments – to enjoy a better quality of life.
